Wildo ARAUJO, fera une présentation intitulée

Natural history of Zika Virus infection in the Brasilia (Federal District –Brazil)

Résumé de la présentation :

Aedes aegypti-transmitted arboviral diseases are major public health challenges in Brazil. Among them, infections with Dengue (DENV), Zika (ZIKV) and Chikungunya (CHIKV) viruses are the most important. The ZIKV epidemics that has recently started in Brazil is a major threat due to the severity of the neurological manifestations including microcephaly and Guillain Barré syndrome. The present study aims to understand the ZIKV infection in a context of sympatric circulation of the three viral agents and elevated coverage of yellow fever vaccination. A multidisciplinary approach involving epidemiologists, clinicians, molecular biologists, immunologists, geographers and experts in sanitation, demography and economical evaluation studies will be used to answer relevant questions on the natural evolution of ZIKV infection and its epidemiologic, clinical and immunologic evolution as well as the costs associated with it.
