Au sein de l’équipe VECOPS, je m’intéresse au comportement des moustiques vecteurs. Je me concentre principalement sur comportement des moustiques vecteurs en présence des différents outils de lutte, en particulier des moustiquaires imprégnées de pyréthrinoïdes. J’ai initié un programme intitulé BeIn (Behaviour & Insecticide) ayant pour objectif de mieux comprendre les modifications du comportement de recherche de l’hôte en présence d’insecticide en relation avec la résistance aux insecticides et l’infection par Plasmodium spp.

Je suis également impliqué dans les activités du centre collaborateur de l’OMS en matière d’évaluation des pesticides pour la santé publique. Je coordonne le réseau ABC (Anopheles Biology & Control) qui fédère des équipes des scientifiques Béninois, Burkinabès, Camerounais, Français, Ivoiriens et Togolais. Les recherches menées au sein du réseau ABC portent principalement sur la gestion de la résistance aux insecticides, la recherche de nouveaux insecticides et répulsifs et sur l’évaluation de l’efficacité de matériaux imprégnées d’insecticides dans différentes conditions environnementales et entomologiques. Le réseau offre également l’opportunité de mener des recherches innovantes sur la biologie, le comportement et la génétique des populations de vecteurs.
